I love you but pls don't...

Ok so this is gonna sound really weird, I hate when my boyfriend says "I love you"during sex. Before is fine, right after is ok but during really freaks me out. I know he loves me, I know I love him. But for some strange reason it sounds so disingenuous while we're having sex. Is it weird that I feel one should have nothing to do with the other. I'm not saying you shouldn't love the person you are intimate with, but I guess I don't need reassurance while we're in the heat of it. I told him and he's ok with it. the closest he comes is I love your "insert body part". Is that strange?
