You're not delivering THERE are you?

Question

Told my MIL. 
Asking invasive and rude questions. 
She's just excited and dying to tell people and share her excitement.  It's our first kid and we want to tell people slowly.  How do I respond?

She sounds excited to me. I wish   mine cared enough to say congratulations or when are you due. You are lucky. Instead mine said whatever.

I would just answer her question truthfully. Yes or no delivering there, yes or no you've told your mother and you are unsure at this time when you will be telling everyone else.

I would be super annoyed by this, too.. don't worry 🙊 especially if i had those pregnancy hormones. I get she is excited perhaps, but like... chill?

I didn't perceive her questions as rude or invasive either. She does seem excited and curious and probably wants the best for you and the baby. As far as where you're delivering, maybe she knows something about that particular hospital that you don't. But ultimately it's you're choice. Don't take it personal. At least your MIL is taking part of this process with you. In the last 7 years with my hubby, my MIL hasn't text me once.

I WISH my mother-in-law was like this, unfortunately she's on drugs to bad to even care that she's having a grandbaby. My mother on the other hand is this excited and I love it. I'm so glad someone else is excited as I am.

She just sounds excited...I love my MIL but I'm dreading telling my mom because I know she's going to bombard me with questions to start then lose interest within like a day. If you're not comfortable with this, just say "I don't know yet, I'll let you know when I do" and don't respond right away. The nice thing about texting is you can respond on your own time. That's what I do when my mom is like this
