Small bump, but large baby?
I am rather short and was overweight before I got pregnant (5’4”, 172 lbs then). I have gestational diabetes that I am managing well with diet and exercise, and at 34 weeks, I’m up 15 lbs to 187 and my bump looks rather small for how far along I am.
At my last ob appt, after the bpp, even though there was no overall sizing of the baby done, the way the doctor talked, it sounded like he suspected my baby might be big. When I mentioned that my bump was small, so I didn’t think the baby could be too big, he said “you’d be surprised”.
I’ll get an official ultrasound measurement of my baby in less than two weeks, but I wanted to ask: have you had (or know someone who has had) a small bump, but gave birth to a big baby?
