My husband took me out to this old spot in the woods right off the lake that him and his friends used to hang out at when they were teens. Had a picnic and made love on a blanket by the lake.😍🙈❤

On my most romantic date, he had 12 long stemmed white roses for me. We had dinner at a nice place downtown. Then we parked in this parking lot that was half empty and we were people watching. This older couple got out of their car and turned the music up. They started slow dancing right there in the parking lot to a love song. We got out and joined them. It was soooo cute.

Not very “extravagant” but it was August 2015. My husband (who’s military) leaving for japan the next morning. He lived there for 12 months and at that point we had no idea when we’d see each other again. We’d been married two years at that point and the move came out of nowhere. We were at a rather emotional family dinner out in town and he could tell I was getting upset. So out of the blue he asked me i I wanted to go get a drink. I very quickly agreed haha so we left the dinner party and bar hopped throughout our home town. We grew up in the same town but we never spoke until 3 years after graduating (we had different friend groups). So we drove around telling stories of our childhood. We brought each other to our childhood homes and our favorite hang out spots. We walked the beach and stared out over the lake and just talked. All night. It was weird because I knew our home town like the back of my hand but that night I was hearing it all from his point of view and his experiences. Not very “wow” to some people but that was easily my absolute favorite night I’ve ever had with my husband. I learned so much about him that night and that time together before he left meant so much to me. It was the start of our most difficult year of marriage.

best date I ever had: met up while both visiting family in NYC  for Thanksgiving (we lived in RI). I'm a museum studies major in grad school so he took me to the Met, a walk through Central Park, a fancy lunch, the Museum of Natural History, dinner in Times Square, a drink, and then walked me to the subway (he was upstate, I was Brooklyn). Ugggghhhh best date ever. Didn't work out however, and I married his friend 😕

My husband before we got married took me out to this fancy dinner and I wasn't prepared so I looked a mess! I was so surprised though that I didn't care. Then we went bowling of all things! Then we went back to his apartment and ate pie while on his the living room floor. It sounds strange but I still remember it fondly because I honestly never had a man put any thought into a date with me. ❤️
