How to conceive twins?

Has anyone had any luck with following some old wives tails to conceive twins? My husband has twin sisters will this help me in anyway?

The mother's history of twins is what determines them. For example my grandma was a twin and her twin brother's grandaughter had twins, and now I'm having twins that came as a complete shock to us who were just trying for one more. It just happens the only for sure way is the advanced medical way that cost a lot of money lol. But you either get them or you don't. Plus twin pregnancies are not as majestic as some make them out to be 😊

i've heard lots of things ... for starters start taking a prenatal vitamin a month or more before you start ttc, whether or not you want twins. i've heard that if you take a high dosage of folic acid, 5 mg a day (not mcg! mg) alongside the prenatal vits you can increase chances. other crazy things like eating dairy, yams (only a certain kind because some have a reverse affect apparently) and coming off of bc right before you start ttc will apparently increase the odds. at the end of the day i'm sure plenty of people swear by crazy methods, you should probably do A LOT of research before trying anything. remember that most of it is up to genetics and just luck. happy trying:) i personally don't believe that these will work but who knows

No it will not help you. 
Genetics plays small role and it only helps if twins are common on your mothers side not fathers or your partner. Old wives tales are jus that tales. 
Fertility treatments increase your chances of twins. 
You’re also more likely to conceive with twins if you are a bigger, older woman (30+ years) As women age they are more likely to drop 2 eggs instead of one so that increases the chances of both eggs being fertilized.

I didn't know there was a way to make yourself have twins. They just run in my family and my SO's my mom was a twin my boyfriend was a twin but he engulfed it. our first pregnancy was twins but I miscarried. second was a baby boy but I miscarried again now we are waiting for me to heal and get the okay to try again
