Weird question: I wonder why men like their baby boys names after them !??? Specially their first baby boy ??? Me personally I wouldn't want to have a baby girl named after me! Does anyone have ideas 💡 why men like to have a jr ?

A tradition based on the male ego. But not all men want that as every family has different traditions when it comes to names. My husband family has typically taken the fathers name as the sons middle name.

Tradition. And because the names become "family names." When there's a John William Smith IV it sounds fancy lol and it shows that the family is still around if that makes sense.

I personally don’t like the idea of it. My ex was named after his father & his mom & I still get along & I asked her how she felt about my ex’s name now that’s he’s older. She told me she regretted it so much because every time she would yell the name they both would say “what??” or when people asked her how Wayne* (changed the name for privacy reasons) was doing she had to ask if they meant his father Wayne or the baby Wayne.

Male tradition it's ridiculous my husband wanted his son named after him making him the 5th at first I was going to let him have it but I can't I'm not a traditional person and I want my child to has his own name if it's a boy so we are giving him another name and my husband is trying to push at least giving him the same middle name but I doubt that will happen.

It annoys me so much. with that said, my family has a running name. Richard Mountain Miller all the way down to number 5. other people naming their kids after themselves annoys me but with my family I really hope it keeps going
