Early tests for abnormalities and gender?

I'm 35 this time around and my doctor said I qualify for blood work that detects abnormalities and gender at my next appointment (12 weeks). I wasn't offered this during my first pregnancy so I was wondering if anyone has had it done, how long it takes to receive the results, how accurate they were and if you were notified in the office or by phone?

I am 21 years old but still opted to have screening done. I had it done at 22+6 and just got my results this morning actually, I'm 27+2. So it took about a month for me, but depending on your doctors office they may get you your results back quicker.

I had the progenity genetic testing done at 12 weeks during my first pregnancy (23 years old). 
It took about 2.5 weeks to get the results and it also told me gender. 
My doctor offers it to everyone and there's a max out-of-pocket expense of $100 through my OB, so we figured to do it to be on the safe side. 
It also gave us all of the probabilities based off of my genetics and if there's a red flag, they can also test your spouse.

I had it done. I'm 35 so my Dr recommended it. It only took a week for my results, and they Dr office called me and told me the results.

I used to order this testing at my last job. I got the results around 6-7 days after the blood was drawn. They're actually pulling baby's DNA from your blood so the testing is actually very accurate. Our office always just called with the results. My nurses would call if it was normal and I would call if anything unusual came back.
