Moment of silence
We’ve debated whether it’s disrespectful to remain seated during the national anthem or pledge of allegiance, but what about the moment of silence afterwards?
At my school, we have the pledge of allegiance, and right after it follows with “please remain standing for a moment of silence”.
So, my question is, while the popular opinion is that for the pledge or anthem it’s not disrespectful to remain seated as it’s practicing a right, does the same rule apply for the moment of silence? Or is that instance different?
