Is this to far?

I planned on having my dr 2 1/2 hours away it'll be my first child. The drs in the town we live in are shit and my husband is worried about me going into labor while on the way. What do you ladies think would you feel comfortable driving that far. Or would you suck it up and have shitty drs in the tie you live in?

I'd not be comfortable driving that far while in labor. i progressed really fast with mine so id have been miserable in the car for thst long. plus if there was traffic or a wreck you could be stuck on the road a long time.

my Dr is an hr and a half away. the Drs close to me are also horrible. I'm also going to deliver where there is a good rep for their NICU, I had a pre term birth last year and I'm high risk, so I don't mind travelling to my Drs appts. as far as birth I am a little scared of not making it, however, I will have my cerclage removed at 37 weeks and if I don't go into labor then, I will be induced at 39 weeks. so maybe check to see if they'll induce you to avoid not making it to the hospital in time?

Well I think if the drs where u live are shitty there not much choice but to drive far I think with ur first kid the chances of u popping the baby out in the 2.5 hr drive is small alothough it could be a long u comfortable drive when the time comes

On the flip side, a bad doctor could give you poor care, and there could be important oversights on their end. I would keep the good doctor, and just make plans to stay in the other city probably a week or so before your due date so you're already there when you go into labor

It would depend on just how bad the drs around me were. If they were absolutely horrible I’d schedule my first appointment with the one farther away and get their opinion on the whole situation. But I know my dr doesn’t want me traveling farther than an hour from home Incase something we’re to happen so I cavils make it to the hospital

I would suck it up... what if you give birth in the car? What if (God forbids) there's complications? You'd still be too far... how far along are you? Could you move to where your desired dr is at? If no, try to see any other dr closer to you... I wouldn't risk it.
