17 and sexually active

I have had sex with 3 people and my dad had the sex talk with me ( he doesn't know i had it ) and he says that im allowed to have sex if im with a partner for a while ... Im not trying to sound like a slut but i want to have sex with people ( even though im not dating them) yea i want a boyfriend but im not seeing what i want so i stay single and just talk to guys. Ofcourse i use protection etc ... What do you guys think about my situation?
