Boyfriend of 4 years

My boyfriend works a physical job and I understand it is very tiring and hard but I’d like him to put in effort to talk to me. On a daily basis, he doesn’t wanna converse with me or anything while I do and he always says “I’m trying to” but it has been forever that he’s been saying that. *when I try talking, he starts showing frustrated facial expressions towards me and scrolling through his phone/laptop*

He got home from work today, didn’t talk to me, and ate his food without cleaning up his trash on the couch, so I reminded him to clean up before he forgets and he got pissed and started saying stuff under his breath snatching the bag and being forceful. I then left to run some errands and when I got back, he still hadn’t gotten our girls up from their nap (and I’ve been super stressed all day) which stressed me out more. He then proceeds to say, “you’re only happy when you get what you want” so I told him, “and you’re only happy when I don’t talk, when I shut up”. What really made me mad was he then said, “now you’re getting it”. I am the one who constantly puts in the effort because I really do love him but he’s not putting me, his kids, or anything before video games and social media.

Should I feel mad/hurt because he technically said he hates when I talk to him? It’s been an ongoing situation and it’s starting to get old and annoying.
