IUD removal and cycles

I just had my IUD removed. I haven't had a period since before I was pregnant with my first child...so June '13 was my last one. Has anyone had their IUD removed and what were your cycles like after? I'm bleeding now but I'm assuming that's from the removal. I don't want to get pregnant right away...I'm hoping to conceive this summer. TIA!
