Today my baby had her 1 year check up. The doctor was listening to her heart and said she had a heart murmur. This is the first time I’m hearing about it. He is going to referring her to a cardiologist to listen and check it out... Isn’t that something they normally find when a baby is born? Or in the womb? Or do heart murmurs just happen randomly?? Anyone have this happen and everything be okay?

I know when my niece was born she had a heart murmur and it eventually went away on its own. I’ve always thought it’s something you are born with and eventually goes away ( unless it’s something serious)

I’d google it but then I’ll just worry it’s the worse thing possible. And she’s a happy healthy baby otherwise... 😞
