late period with excessive cm

currently on CD 38. I have had more than usual CM like to the point that I feel it coming out and think AF has arrived. CM is creamy and clear-white. My cycle up to the last couple months was regular every 28 days. last cycle was 41 days. I tested negative last cycle and no other symptoms so haven't tested at all this time. anyone else with similiar experience? What could be going on? how can i get back to regular cycles? I'm 33 with 3 kids from previous relationship my youngest is 10. would love another with my current he's 35 with no children so concerned it's just not going to happen for us
