Late bfp maybe?

What would be the cause of getting a positive until period is due or after it is due?  Period is due tomorrow and still getting negatives

Answer

I didn't get a positive until my period was 8 days late. Several reasons for that could be 
1) women produce different levels of HCG, some produce naturally higher levels so at home pregnancy tests detect them faster
2) some women implant later. Since I didn't get my BFP until 17 DPO, I probably didn't even implant until 13/14 DPO
3) some women may not actually ovulate when they think they do. Some women who get a positive at 9dpo may have actually ovulated two weeks before and miscalculated so they are actually 11 DPO or something. Very common if you aren't using OPKS, which a surprising amount of people don't. 
It happens. That's why everyone says you aren't out until your period shows. I tested two days before expected period, nothing. Tested day of, nothing. So on and so on. I finally got cramps and decided my period was probably coming so I stopped testing, but when I was cleaning I found one more (and smells were kind of strong) so I tested one more time and bam!!
