Mommy time
A conversation at work started a heated debate and I was curious to get input from other mamas. A comment was made in disgust about women that bring their child to daycare on a day off if they have certain things to do. I replied that I didn’t think there was anything wrong with using a resource every so often for a little time to yourself or if you have things to do that would be easier without your child. Several coworkers acted like that was the most horrible thing ever and how you can’t expect someone else to raise your child, etc. My comment wasn’t meant as an everyday or even weekly thing. It was meant as every so often you might want a little time alone to get shit done. They went off to say that as a FTM I’m in for a rude awakening blah blah blah. Should I feel bad for hypothetically suggesting that I may take my child to daycare or drop him with gma every so often if I want some time to myself or if I have a huge list of errands to run? If I have the support system and help available, why wouldn’t I utilize it on occasion?
