HSG ... Round 2

Leslie

DH and I have been trying to conceive since October 2013. A year and a half ago, I had an HSG done in the OR and found out both of my tubes were blocked, I had stenosis of the cervix and polyps all over my uterus. The doc was able to unblock my right tube, but not my left ... performed a D&C; to remove the polyps and surgically opened my cervix more.

A year after the surgery, still not pregnant, I start seeing a fertility specialist. Clomid ... femara ... trigger shots. 3 failed IUI cycles ... and 2 months of not be able to do IUI because I had multiple follicles but ONLY on my left side with the closed tube. We started to suspect my right tube had become blocked again.

Today I had another HSG done, but at the radiologist this time. I read horror stories about the pain and infections/side effects afterwards. Surprisingly, it was not at all what I had feared it would be! After the procedure was done, the doc was explaining how I might feel afterwards and what to do if I experience certain symptoms. He said my fertility doc will get the results in a day or 2 ... but he was able to confirm that my right tube is open. AND my left tube was open as well!!!!

I truly feel blessed and cannot believe my left tube unblocked on its own when the doc over a year ago couldn’t unblock it during surgery!!! Feels somewhat like a miracle!!! I know this doesn’t guarantee I’ll get pregnant ... but it definitely makes me feel like I have a better chance at it now than I ever have :)
