How was your first day home with your baby?

FTM so I'm curious how this day went for everybody...and what all you did. I saw a post saying somebody started tummy time the first day home from the hospital. How often was baby awake and asleep? Did you have family come and meet baby?

My first day home was my day to rest.  You won't get any in the hospital.  So the only things I do that day is sleep, eat and feed baby.   I leave the rest to my Husband.

My first day home was weird to me. I had a baby and I didn't know what I was doing. Didn't feel like myself but I did suffer from PPD. My husband acted as if it was a normal day but I just sat there thinking I couldn't do anything else.

Our baby just slept all day and all night so our normal lives went on we just made sure to feed her, check on her, etc. Other than that, she ONLY woke up to eat. She wouldn’t stay awake for anything else for about 2 months. So we really didn’t get the whole “parenting” experience.

I had the baby at home, so....we just slept, watched tv, relaxed, and enjoyed our new baby, lol. No family for about a week because they all live hours away.

Mine was very low key- meet babies needs, then my own. Tummy time on day one seems a bit...odd.  Newborns just want to eat, sleep and poop. And be cuddled/snuggled, sang to, rocked, etc.  And who can blame them? My little girl hated being in her bassinet and would only sleep well if I were holding her, or had her wrapped (Moby/Boba) to my chest.  Also, I saw afterwards babies need to be a certain weight for those wraps or have dr's green light, my daughter came home at 4lbs (preemie) so I stopped and asked Dr asap once I realized.  Try not to do too much (visitors) it's cold and flu season, but if close family wants to help, take it 💗 Congrats and best of luck!!

For me it was not rest for week . In every two hours baby gets hungry. If u can get some family help in ur home that will be great for u .
