Should We Still be Celebrating Columbus Day?
After all, he didn't actually "discover" the Americas (Native people had been here for thousands of years prior, and the Vikings visited 500 years before Columbus ever arrived). Not to mention the atrocities he inflicted on many the Native peoples he encountered... he was kind of a murderer and a tyrant! IMO, we definitely shouldn't be honoring him with a holiday in his name... What do you think: should we still be celebrating Columbus Day?
