How far between appointments ?

Today, I found out that I was pregnant and went and had my US done. I'm currently 6weeks and 6 days. The lady who did the US said that they will be looking at scheduling my next appointment when I'm about 20 weeks. Is anyone else's appointments that far out ? I feel like that's FOREVER from now and since I've smoked up until finding out today I want to go like every 2 weeks to make sure i don't miscarry.

Ultrasound that's normal. Regular visits should be monthly. Insurance won't cover every two weeks unless high risk or after 35 weeks pregnant.

Do you mean next ultrasound? Usually, given it is not a high risk pregnancy( smoking prior to it doesn’t make  it a high risk one) you will see your obgyn every 4 weeks up until 26-28w, then starting 26-26w you will see him every 2 weeks. And starting 36w it’s every week. As for ultrasounds, you usually get only 2 of them throughout your pregnancy. You will have blood tests as well. Ask your doctor about your concerns. I am a heavy smoker. Quit as soon as i tested positive. Both kids are healthy! Just don’t stress, eat healthy, take your folic acid, dont have anything you wont want your newborn to have, drink plenty of water. Congratulations 🌸

Actual OB appointments are usually once every 4 weeks. Ultrasounds are spaces out further. I had my first ultrasound at 8wks & didn’t get another one until I was 20wks. Had to repeat the 20wk scan at 22wks & I have to repeat it again 🙃

You should have another US by week 12/13 as they do the first trimester screening with some blood work to determine any risk of Down syndrome or trisomy 18 etc. Don't worry too much your dr will schedule you for another US on your next appointment!

Most insurances only cover 3 ultrasound visits unless your deemed a high risk pregnancy. Since you had an ultrasound early you most likely won't have another ultrasound until you are 20 weeks which is your anatomy scan and that's when you find out the gender. As for normal OB/GYN appts you should be going every 4 weeks right now until you hit a certain point and then you'll go every 2 weeks and then every week.

I'm sitting here laughing at myself like damn how am I gonna make it to the next appointment and it hasn't even been scheduled yet lol.

i had my first appointment august 11th, then august 14th i had an ultrasound. then my last appointment was on the 3rd of this month and i’ll have my second ultrasound when i’m 20 weeks, (around the 17th of this month) 
but the doctors told me that they don’t like to do a lot of ultrasounds because it’s not good for the baby (or something around that) but there’s places you can go to get some done.
