Paying a deductible before delivery??

I’m 19w2d. And at my last appointment (Tuesday) I found out that I’d have to pay a deductible of 2,248.50 before February. I’m a tad bit upset I’m just now finding out this information. I called my insurance and they told me I only have to pay like 900 something dollars and they’ll cover the rest. I’m so confused. Any moms with experience in this are can you please shed some light on the situation.

It's always been to my understanding that you always pay your deductible prior to having full coverage by your chosen provider. For example, my deductible waa $600 and then after that was met, I have full medical coverage in all aspects of coverage.

And if your doctors office is saying conflicting facts, definitely go by what your insurance provider is stating. If you are still having push back from the doctors office, have your insurance call them directly to clarify. That's what I had to do, and since haven't had any issue.

Well you always pay your deductible first then they will cover a % after you have met your deductible.

Mine was $1300 and that does not include and drugs I may require during delivery. I was also told the amount they give you is overestimated so you can receive some back.. but seems unlikely.

The $900 is probably the percentage you have to pay in addition to the other amount they told you.
