I really don't think there is a "right" age. It's more about being in the right place emotionally, which is the reason it's best for most people to wait until they're older. Young teenagers minds just usually aren't ready to deal with the level of emotions that go with it. 
It should never be about the pressure to get it over with or do it by an arbitrary age. Just live life and wait until you're ready, with no pressure. It's just another milestone in your life, and it doesn't have to meet anyone's expectations but your own. If the time is right for you then it will be a great experience.
