Failed first hearing test?

Anyone’s newborn fail their first hearing test at the hospital?

Yep! Mine did. I freaked out at the time, but learned that it is quite common - often due to residual fluid from delivery. 
We had to repeat the test when my son was 2 weeks old and he passed immediately!

yes! mine was born en caul (born in the sac) and docs said he had no reaction in his right ear probably due to liquid in the ear. went to a test 1 weel later and they said he has little reaction but the equipment was too big for a week old babys ear. hes 2 months and can hear and reacts to noises. i mean he could hace partial hearing loss but who cares, I can make accommodations but I doubt it the way he reacts

Mine failed her first one too. I hear it's very common!

My son did on one of his ears. Had to retake it as he passed. They stated it couldve been too much fluid in the ear at the time.

My son failed, in the left ear, twoce- but ended up passing before we left the hospital. He was also a C-Section.

Yep, mine failed in one ear but she was not happy during the test and kept crying and spitting up. They came back the next day, did it while she was sleeping, and passed it no problem.

yep that's common if by c section it's often just fluid in ears we went back a week later and he passed with flying colors
