Opk assistance!

I took an ovulation test this morning with fmu, and then tonight around 7:30 pm. Do you ladies think I had a possible surge yesterday or something and that's why the opk got lighter? If I did O yesterday or even today I would've been 7 days early! I still get so confused sometimes when using opk's; I think it's the excitement.
