Would my OB induce me sooner?

I am 33 weeks today I had a ultrasound done at 32 and my baby girl was measuring 5 pounds already. He said she was a chunky girl😂💕 but I was told by a friend that my OB could induce me sooner then having to wait till 40 weeks. Is this true? I looked up how soon you can be induced and it said 36 weeks. So if I ask can he induce me sooner? Or does there have to be something wrong for him to do that?

Good doctors won’t induce unless medically necessary. Just because baby is putting on weight/fat doesn’t mean they’re developing any more quickly.

Trust me, you don't want to be induced early. I wasn't given the option to stay pregnant and I wish I were able to. I was induced at 37 weeks, given steroid shots to develop my sons lungs and he still went to the NICU. Let your baby cook. Those ultrasounds are usually wrong anyway. My sons was off by over 1lb and it was the night before he was born.

Don’t forget the measurements aren’t always very accurate. My best friend was told her baby was measuring to be close to 9lbs right before she gave birth and she weighed in at 7lb8oz.... and that’s not the only person I’ve heard that happen to.  I wouldn’t be too concerned.

I asked my doctor about elective induction and he said if your cervix is favorable (soft &dilated;) he will induce at 39 weeks, no earlier. I’m doing lots of walking, sex, spicy foods, EPO, stairs, and red raspberry leaf tea in hopes of having a ready cervix! I miscarried my first pregnancy so I am very impatient/super excited to hold my rainbow boy in my arms :))

I don't think they will generally just electively induce anymore until baby is full term (39 weeks) unless there's a medical reason. But you could maybe get induced at 39 weeks!

My dr won't induce until 39 weeks without an amnio to confirm baby's lung function (or a medical reason) but I'm sure all Drs are different.

You don’t want to be induced early. It won’t be fun and it won’t be worth it. 
I was in your shoes and wanted nothing more than to hold my baby and not be pregnant anymore. Well I’m glad my doctor was so amazing and made me wait until I was 41 weeks to be induced.  
I went in the night before last night and boom, my body went into labor after a cervical check. 
My son is as healthy as can be and doing so great. He latched right away and is feeding fabulously. Something he may not have done as well if he was early. 
So seriously, it’s worth the wait. I know the last few weeks are rough but now I miss being pregnant

My sister got induced at like 38 Weeks and said everything was fine with her baby.
