Stuttering?

Question

Any moms with kids who stutter?  My daughter is 2 1/2 and I just noticed her starting to stutter.  Her verbal skills are great otherwise and I’ve never noticed it before.   
She does have a history of ear infections and had tubes placed 6 months ago.  Before that, her hearing was moderately impaired and she was behind on speech. But now she has more than caught up.
Should I be worried or ask for a speech eval?

My son stuttered around that age because his mind worked so much faster than he could physically get his thoughts out. Anyway his great grandfather was the same way and his issue stuttering has since fully resolved as he got older. 😁

I am a speech therapist and I would recommend asking for a referral to get an evaluation if you have concerns. They can give you recommendations and more specific information on children who stutter.

My son did that at about that age. I was told it's just their minds working faster than than spit out the words. His went away.  He's almost 5 now and there's something he stutters at if he can't say what he's trying to say.

My son did around 2 or 3 and I took him to speech therapy for about a year.  He is 14 now and no problems at all.

I used to stutter and what helped me, was reading out loud. now your child may be too young for this but try it they are still doing it when they are older. I would read things out loud and stop if I made a mistake... and started all over. I was proud of myself when I could make it through a whole page with out stuttering.

encourage music, speech therapy and Lollie pops. The pops are so each therapist secret, it stangthens the tongue. And while it's in the mouth encourage her making sound like "a"  "ey"
