asking to be induced?!

has anyone asked their doctor to just be induced? im going to be 40 weeks in 2 days and my body seriously cant take this anynore. I'm onluy 1cm dilated ive been like this for 3 weeks. haven't lost my mucus plug but my hips..my legs my back..I'm in so much pain I just cant do this for another week! ( my doctor will only let me go 5 daya after due date before inducing me) just wondering if anyone has just asked to get this over with. I have an appt in a little bit so I'm just going to ask...

Let nature do it's course. Induction should be done for medical reasons only.

My doctor will do it any time at or after 39 weeks. He understands how uncomfortable pregnant women can be so he has no issue with inducing a patient. Go ah ad and ask for induction! Even though our bodies should naturally go into labor, for some of us that just doesn’t happen.

I’m 39 weeks & just discusses this with my OB as my hubby is planning to fly here when he gets the call. We’ve both been so anxious with this weird limbo state every time I have a contraction, that planning his flights & going for induction actually sounds way less stressful now than how we’ve been living. There are lower intensity induction options leading up to pitocin, so I’m hoping we’ll be fortunate with those interventions if our own attempts at  ‘natural induction’ don’t work.

I asked mine to be induced when I was 38 weeks and I was induced the following week (last week) when I was 39 and 4 days, he would have done it at 39 weeks exactly if I wanted too, so it doesn't hurt to ask!!!

I have and they did a membrane sweep strech Tuesday I thought she was going to look at me crazy when I asked but she when ahead and gave it her best shot but my due date is not till the 24th

Not me. I'm due in 5 days and doctor talked about inducing at 41 weeks if he has not come on his own yet. I'm not even comfortable with that. I think unless there's a legitimate medical reason to induce then the best option for both mom and baby is to wait until labor naturally starts on its own up until 42 weeks.

I'm 40+1 with no signs of labor, my doctor told ms I need to be one week over due before I can be induced. Omg the pains is everywhere I'm 178 lbs n I have a 2 1/2 year son to care for. I'm getting so stressed this baby girl not coming out...

I went into day and asked to be induced next Friday Oct 20th, I’ll be 39 weeks, I’m just in so much pain and can barley walk or stand without being in pain. Doesn’t help I have a toddler running around all day I gotta keep up with lol. My Dr is actually going to be out of town that day 😔 but luckily I’ll be able to do it the 23rd!
