Induced and natural?

Question

My doctor said that I can get induced next week if I want however I want a natural delivery; I’ve read the medicine that they give you makes your contractions stronger so maybe induction may not be a good idea. Anybody ever got induced and still went epidural free??

Pitocin contractions are incredibly intense. You might want to keep an open mind about different pain med options if you go that route.

I was induced with pitocin last Monday and did not get an epidural. I did get Nubain in my IV at 4cm and dilated to 10cm within 30 minutes. However, the Nubain quickly wore off so the pushing part was all natural. I felt completely alert afterwards and healed quickly. I did not take pain medication at all while in the hospital but it could be I have a higher pain tolerance since I have been through this before? Not sure. Entire labor time from start of pitocin was 8 hours. 
My first child I was also induced but got an epidural. I dealt with awful swelling for a week afterwards (could not move my legs) and the epidural made me shaky. It did not speed up the labor process (for me) Entire labor time 20 hours. 10 of those hours after epidural.

I was induced with my last and it was the fastest, easiest labor/birth without an epidural (compared to my first two)... three hours start to finish!

I would not opt for induction. Been there and done that, my natural labors are easier to stay on top of and shorter than my induced labors.

i was induced once, had incredible pain and an epidural. went into labor naturally another time, was able to deliver naturally. for that reason, I wouldn't recommend induction unless absolutely necessary. but, if it's unavoidable, I agree with the above comment to keep an open mind about pain control. good luck, mama!

I was induced on Tuesday and I came in begging for them to break my water before the pitocin because I was so scared of it. They broke my water but nothing happened and we started the pitocin. Holy moly, it hurt, but in two hours I went from 3-10 and didn't have anything for the pain. I think it was actually less painful than my son's, six hours of intense back labor. I had spent a lot of time worrying I wouldn't be able to go without pain meds, but I brought in my speaker and literally sang through the contractions. 
You can do it if you really want to! Just stay strong mentally! And if you change your mind all that really matters is getting your baby in your arms!

I had regular labor and then was put on pitocin. I was in an incredible amount of pain after it. Like hysterically crying during every contraction. I had to have an epidural

i just got induced yesterday and went completely natural with no pain meds. they dont necessarily have to use pitocin to induce you, my doc just broke my water for me. i opted out and chose not to have pitocin as a form of induction. now they did have to use pitocin after i completely delivered baby and placenta due to hemoraging. They used it to make my uterus contract and stop bleeding.
