unassisted birth?

has anyone had an unassisted birth or are planning one? this will be my 4th and I've always wanted a home birth but our insurance doesn't cover it. not to mention I've let people talk me out of it every single time. If you have done one or are planning one please give me details! Please don't comment with negative comments I'm purely asking a question not looking for a lecture. I am seeing a midwife and will more than likely go to the hospital anyway. I'm curious.
