I had a coworker who had irregular periods, I mean months without so she didn't even know she was pregnant until the end of her first trimester.....she was pregnant with her first and it became a conversation between us lol

I've had them all my life. It never came the same day and sometimes would skip up to 3 months. That being said I was not having sex at the time so I didn't worry about being pregnant. once I started having sex with my husband I'd get it every month. Just like 9 mentioned before it wouldn't be the same day but I'd get it every month. the month I skipped was because I was pregnant. My son is almost 2 and we will be trying soon for baby #2.

No, it makes it harder to notice if you're pregnant since you probably won't suspect it. You can still get pregnant regardless. 
My aunt is an irregular and she didn't find out she was pregnant until she was 6 months pregnant...she would get "periods" which was less than spotting and she thought it was her period. She went to the doctor because she was feeling sick and it turned out she was pregnant. It was a big surprise to all of us. 
I honestly never thought these types of stories were real but they really are. So don't be careless.
