What may be a joke to some..

I am not the type of person who gets offended easily...unless it is in regards to TTC. Today, DH and I went out on a lunch date and as we were waiting for our food to come I was admiring the three children under ages 3 in the next booth. They were adorable, quiet and well behaved as far as I could see. When the mother saw me admiring her youngest baby she said to me and DH "Ugh, if you guys don't have any yet, don't do it!" Normally I might have chuckled at it because I'm sure to her it was a harmless joke. I am certain she has her hands full with those three young children. However, it rubbed me the wrong way because I got AF this week in our 17th month of trying. Part of me wanted to say to her, "I've just had endless bloodwork and an HSG because I am so ready to experience the joy of pregnancy\motherhood. so yeah I'd gladly take those babies off your hands." But instead a friendly smile because she doesn't know my story, how could she? Infertile people look just like everyone else, nobody can tell that though my reproductive organs all look great, for some unexplained reason they aren't working with me to make a baby.

So, this mom may have thought she was being cute but she simply reminded me that she has what I can't seem to get yet.
