Is this family hiding something after being freed from the taliban?

There is something odd about this story. They chose to go backpacking in one of the moat dangeroua areas of the world while the wife was 7 months pregnant.

And they had 2 more kids while being there? If you research them, the husband was married to the sister of a terrioist who is now in Guantanamo bay. I've never been a hostage, let alone kept in captivity as a hostage for years on end, so I'm just making a theory here. But assuming hostages aren't treated well (such as being allowed to be with or live with each other), I find it very likely that she was raped. And that's how she was able to have two more children. 
But like I said, I don't know anything about being a hostage and this is the first I'm hearing of the story. So just pointing out that possibility.

I have been following this story for years. I can understand them backpacking in Afghanistan when they were, especially with Boyle's past. They did backpacking trips often from what I gathered in their back story and Afghanistan has one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the world from what I have been told. 
   
I don't know how they were able to conceive children or why they would have been allowed to, this the Taliban uses families to watch hostages, so I can see how her being pregnant might have kept her safe with the families. The families are also better to hostages that behave, so they might have been allowed to live together if they were complying. 
   
I read Boyle was afraid to get on the military planes because of GB, and that is the only strange part to me. I'll be watching this as it unfolds and hope most of their debriefing becomes public.

Afghanistan is far from being safe when it comes to people going backpacking. I have strong feelings that the CIA has something to do with it.

I think it's very suspicious that she conceived and gave birth to two children with her husband in captivity. Even if their captors were letting them have sex and being nice to them why would you want to bring babies into that kind of situation? Also I read that the man was previously married to the sister of Omar Khadr (who was a child soldier forced to join the Taliban by his radicalized father). So he has ties to a family who was very involved with the Taliban. It just seems very weird to me.
