Period lasting longer than normal and...

So, my periods are always 4-5 days long. This month my period was 5 days late and I have been bleeding for 8 days now. I had two days of heavy, normal period bleeding (normal for me anyway) and now I’m spotting pink.

My husband told me to take a pregnancy test and after some arguing, I finally did and it’s positive ??

What on Earth? Why would I have started bleeding like this? If it was a miscarriage, wouldn’t the test read negative or at least be very faint by now? I’m so confused.

YES I’m going to the doctor but can’t be seen until Wednesday.
