We're mommies today! (induced)
Welcome Willow Rose! Story and photos below...Thursday I was 39 weeks and scheduled for cervical ripening at 9pm, induction at 6am. things were a bit behind schedule because it took so long to get an IV in (fifth attempt successful). I was only 1cm and 50% at admission and what seemed like Braxton Hicks contractions. Baby didn't respond terribly well to the cytotec and her Heart beat dropped with the increased contractions, after each one. The nurses kept having me change positions to keep her heartbeat from dropping and we finally found oxygen and me on my right side kept baby stable and happy. I quickly moved to 2 cm, then 3, then 4. (This was my 3rd pregnancy and vaginal childbirth.) By 5am, contractions had increased in consistency enough that the nurses offered an epidural and I agreed. One IV bag later, the anesthesiologist came in and administered between contractions. The Dr came in and broke my water and found meconium in the waters. They started a flush of the waters and put a monitor on baby's head to watch her heartbeat and stopped pitocin because it was making her Heart rate drop. I stabilized into normal contractions and was 6 cm soon at 1125. The nurse kept an eye on the baby's heartbeat and went to check me again after 15 minutes because of the baby's heartbeat dropping rhythmically meaning head compression and likely change. She checked and I was at 10cm and ready to go. She left and called the Dr. Dr was there by 1150 and I pushed 1x and she said stop because I was pushing her out so fast and then said to push again and I pushed one more time and Dr was laying her on my chest. My wife cut the cord after delaying cord clamping and

I had my skin to skin time and first feeding. My wife had hers immediately after. Photos below! 6lbs 7 oz
