Baby with bad reflux

I was just wondering if anyone has had a baby with really bad reflux and weather they have been able to overcome it and keep breast feeding anyway? I would really like to Breastfeed, but myself my dad and my grandmother all have a week epiglottis and because Brest milk is so much lighter than formula could not keep it down. I am wondering if they have new ways of dealing with things like that now, or should I be prepared with bottle and stuff in case my little one has inherited it.
