To answer your question, I don't think it's our child not "looking" like us that's the problem, but how we respond to ignorant, judgemental people. I've got bi-racial twin boys on the way and couldn't give two short and curlies about what a random stranger thought. I guess being in an interracial relationship and getting the stares, odd looks and stupid comments have seasoned me.

I'm Hispanic I look white and my husband is black. She looked too dark to be my kid and too light to be his, people would always freak out and say "oh you're her parents?" She honestly looked Polynesian. I use to call her my island girl😍
