Progesterone?

Not sure if I'm posting this on the right wall so please let me know if I'm not... I was on the pill for 5 years. Stopped August 12th and had spotting for one day on the 17th. Had very light periods on the pill. I still have not had my period since then. I asked the nurse when I went in the other day and she said if I don't have a period by the end of the month then I should call and they would prescribe me progesterone. What are your experiences with this or how long did it take you to get your period after stopping the pill?
