Not vaccinated family member

Heather

I just need to vent a little. My husband called his family to make sure they weren’t planning on showing up at the hospital at 5am when my inducing appointment is scheduled. For many reasons, including nothing exciting is going to happen until many hours later and I just don’t need everybody being impatient around me. We’re all good there, they’re busy into the afternoon 👍.

But then one of them asked if we were going to let them hold the baby if they hadn’t gotten the TDap shot. My husband read my mind and told them no, because we don’t want anyone to pass along whooping cough or anything like that to the baby. I feel like this family member will respect our wishes, but we told them 3-4 weeks ago that they needed it. So why didn’t you get it?!?! And it’s not like you go get vaccinated and you can immediately hold the baby...so I just feel a little annoyed and wonder if I’m going to have to police this person until the vaccine fully is in effect.

Anyone else have to deal/worry about this? Tips?
