Progesterone shots?

Hey ladies! With my first baby I had a preemie, he was over a month early so this time around my doctor wants me to do progesterone shots. Does anyone have any experience with it? I need first hand stories if anyone has any info about it.

I had them for my second pregnancy from 15-35 weeks every week I got a shot in my butt cheek and it is well worth it, I didn't deliver til 39weeks

They go in your butt. It hurts only for a second and then it’s fine. Rub the area after the shot to prevent lumps. I did them myself everyday for ten weeks and it was fine. Some people say that putting ice on your butt first helps but I never tried it. Also some said that holding the syringe in your hand for a couple minutes first to warm it makes the consistency thinner but it didn’t hurt me enough to do all that extra stuff. The scariest part was the anticipation of doing it. It would take me a couple minutes to get the nerve up to do it but it never really hurt that bad. I would recommend doing it at the same time everyday so it’s easier to remember.

Just finished mine! My husband gave them to me weekly. I’d ice my hip for about 15 minutes before, and hold the vile of progesterone in my hand that whole time to warm up the oil. Otherwise, it’s a little thick. 
After it was injected, make sure you rub the injection spot for a while to make sure the oil moves about. And afterwards I’d sit on a heating pad. I never had any lumps as long as I did all these steps. 
The first few weeks the side effects was mainly emotional. The first few weeks I’d be super moody the day after my shot, either grumpy or I’d feel like I’d need to cry for no reason. Lol. But it was really only the first month of shots, I’d say. Your hip may be sore the first couple days too. But you get used to it. Also, the day before I was for my next shot I’d get really bad headaches.
