Do you get along with your MIL?

Question

How do you deal with a disrespectful MiL? How do you react when she only wants to see the grandkids and not you?

Mine only wants to see her bubbzy-wubbzy baby boy, screw me and the kids. When you can figure out how to deal with a Monster-In-Law let me know I'll be here with gritted teeth.

I am somewhere between "kind of" and "she is the best"... we get along just fine and have never had any major issues, but I don't see myself saying "she's the best!"... we are very very different people who both have their hearts in the right place..
I actually expect grandparents will want to see my child more then they will want to see me. Lol,.. I think that is kind of normal. I have never been asked not to visit because they don't want to see me, I just recognize that they want to see my daughter more. I think that is pretty normal.

I have the issue of mine wanting to see the kids all the time and wants me to come but I'm like uhm no if someone wants to take the kids for a few hours, I'm gonna take some time to myself not come hang out with you so you can drive me crazy. lol another thing I have noticed with her... she had 2 boys and her oldest son had a boy, then my bf had a girl so being the first girl, she spoils the crap out of her and I definitely see the favoritism towards her over the other kids (another boy and another girl after the first girl) I know it's kind of shitty for me to compare but she got my bf's oldest daughter way more Christmas presents than the other 3 grandkids the last 2 years. And because she offered to pay for the place we rented for my daughters first birthday and make her cake/cupcakes, she didn't get my daughter anything for her birthday. I know like I said it's kind of shitty for me to compare that stuff but it's just stuff I notice. For my stepdaughter first 3 birthdays we didn't have a place big enough for her party so she hosted it at her house, made the food and the cake and still got her a bunch of presents. I totally see the favoritism towards the oldest granddaughter and it annoys the shit out of me

My biggest concern with having a baby is my MIL 😂 I’m watching how crazy she is with my sister in laws first baby. They live an hour and a half away from them and she still manages to get over there every weekend. She’ll be trying to move in with us. She’s also Jewish and I am not. She likes to ignore this fact. I can’t wait until she starts pushing all the Jewish traditions. I hope my husband prepares himself for all the stepping in he will be doing!

I feel like this always. I think she's only nice to me now because hubby is distant and she want to see the kids...not sure how I feel about it.

Why wouldn’t she want to see the grandkids more than me? I don’t expect her to be my BFF or anything, but we get along just fine when together. She can be a pill, but she just another person and she does really care about our family and happiness.
