Striping the membranes.....?

Question

I went for my 39 wk check today and he said he did "something to start labor" while was doing my internal. I believe he striped my membranes?

​Anyway, has anyone had this done? How long between the time it was done, and you went into labor?? Had it done at 10am, still nothing. The doctor said he thinks it will be today or tomorrow.  Thoughts? Made my hubby and sad come home from work early for nothing :(

I had it done with my first daughter and it didn't do anything for me. She was still two weeks late and I had to be induced. Might do it at 38 weeks this time to see if something will happen.

I had mine done at 38 weeks at 2 cm & 70% and it didn't do anything, so I'm having it done tomorrow at my appointment! I was 3cm and 90% on Friday so hopefully it works this time. How dilated and effaced are you?

I don't know how effaced i was, but I was already 4cm dilated
