So next month, I have an appointment to get my IUD taken out. I’ve had it since November of last year and the only thing I can say that is good that came out of it was no periods. I’ve had terrible acne, excessive weight gain, mood swings galore, cyst on my cervix and too many other reasons to get it taken out. I’ve had a really bad experience with estrogen but at the time, and with the really dumb Gyno I had at the time, gave me this IUD anyways. I was just thinking about right now and that was convenient with a newborn. I’m getting it taken out so I can lose all of this awful weight I gained. I was losing Baby weight just fine and at a steady pace before I got this put in and it just started packing and I have tried everything while eating healthy no matter what. So now here’s for my question...

Should I...

A.) Get it removed and just get the Paraguard (no hormones) Or

B.) Get it removed, work my ass off to get this weight gone and then get the Paraguard put in?

No matter what, I’m getting the Paraguard put in and the Mirena taken out. I talked to my SO and he really supports my decision because of the hell I’ve went through with this damn thing. He even said he would take every precaution to not get pregnant if I decided to wait to get the paraguard even if that meant to not have sex. So what’s your opinion? Should I wait or just get it done at the same time?
