She couldn't wait any longer 😞

🌈 My rainbow baby girl decided she didn't want to be inside of my womb any longer. She came into the world at 1:23 AM, weighing 1lb 9.81 oz at exactly 13 inches. Since we made it past midnight she was technically 25 weeks exactly.

Moms of extremely premie babies who spend their first months in the NICU, how do you deal with this?

I haven't gotten to hold her or touch her yet and I'm dying inside. My first baby came at 20 weeks and didn't make it, leaving me no baby to take home. The doctors say she is doing as can be expected, they're slowly weaning her off the breathing tube but nonetheless she has a long long way to go and we won't be taking her home until February around her due date.

How do you deal with not taking your baby home or not getting to hold her and care for her like a mother should be able to?

I just feel like SUCH a failure to my children. I'm supposed to protect them and I feel like I've failed them both.
