Women 21+, if you have never had a Pap smear done, I highly recommend you do so. I am a 22 year old virgin, who had a pap done this past Monday... I hear back today, that everything was fine regarding STD’s, STI’s and cancer, but I do have an “infection” called “Bacterial Vaginosis”.

Now I did my research and it’s an overgrowth of the bacteria in the vagina. It can cause a fish odor, and discharge. It occurs most before, during and after your menstrual cycle.

If I had not had that pap done, I wouldn’t have known I had that. And I’ve had this discharge since I got my period in middle school. I didn’t think anything of it since I thought it was normal... but it’s not. I thought I was “always horny” which isn’t the case. It does get worse after sexual intercourse and can be transmitted though female-female sex. This caused my UTI that I had in the beginning of the year.

My mom was against it, I did it without her permission and I’m glad I did because I know it’s nothing wrong that I did, it’s was just my body. I have been prescribed antibiotics for it, so I will be taking that 2x a day for the week.

PLEASE GET ANY TEST DONE THAT YOU FEEL IS NECESSARY!!
