Anyone else going to try "breathing" their baby out instead of pushing?

Sounds like something I'd like to try. Has anyone on here done this successfully?

Yes! 🙋🏼🙋🏼🙋🏼 I did an hypnobirthing course and although everything went differently (had to be induced long story), I still wanted to do that part. The doctors laughed and told me to wait and see because it’s not possible. Well I did ☝🏻 because it just means follow your body and not to push for ages early on. Even though they thought I was crazy the doctors let me and I am still grateful. They told me that if I wanted to push I could, but it was my call. I just followed my body for one more hour and felt my baby move every contraction. After that hour she was almost crowning. They told me to push and I acted like I did but I didn’t 🙈 (I thought this would be better than arguing them) and within 10 minutes my daughter was born. However everything else didn’t go as planned (I was very sad about that), this I did and I’m still very proud and happy to. 
So you go for it girl. It doesn’t mean to stop your body from pushing/contracting naturally, it just means not to force your body. This way you will have less injuries after and you can spare your energy for those last magical and important moments.

I pushed because that’s what I felt like I had to do. As in that’s what I felt the urge to do and it felt good for me to push. But making sure I was breathing right helped keep things calm and lessened pain.

I didn't push in the traditional sense. I did hypnobirthing and I let my body lead as far as getting baby down. I had the urge to push from 6 cm on lol so once I was given the ok to get baby out I had to remind myself. I got into a squatting position on the bed and allowed my body to do most of the work, I did give a few small pushes near the end but didn't hold my breath or push for a count. It did take longer (1.5 hours) but I had zero tearing.

I will be doing Hypnobirthing and this is part of it, have read the book and waiting for classes to start. I was just talking to my mum about it yesterday and how I’ll be breathing the baby out instead of pushing.. she seemed a bit puzzled about how it will work. I’m looking forward to starting classes and learning more about it!

It's hard to imagine not pushing. I swear I wasn't, my body was doing it spontaneously and in its own. I'm afraid there is no way I could have prevented that. But I'll read up on this 😉

I haven’t heard of this but I’ve heard of women forcing themselves to orgasm instead during birth.
