#RespectHarry

🪐 E.T 🪐

I just logged onto twitter to see #RespectHarry trending. It turns out that at Harry Styles show last night, a female fan grabbed his crotch while he was preforming. In the videos you see her hand touch him and he immediately moves away from that part of the stage but carries on preforming. Here's a description of what happened I found on twitter:

Here are links to the two videos I watched, or you can just search #RespectHarry on twitter and you will find them.

First of all, I'm disappointed in society as a whole for teaching these girls that this is appropriate. I would bet my whole life that the girl who did that would view it as sexual assault if it was a male fan doing it to a female artist. But even if it was the other way around, it would still be seen as less 'serious' because people forget that celebrities are humans too who deserve respect. I even came across actual fans of Harry Styles saying that anyone would've done the same if Harry came that close to them:

There is absolutely no excuse for sexual assault, no matter who the person is. Nobody deserves it, you should never assume it is okay and you should never try to defend the abuser. People think it's okay to assault men because they can 'take it' or they should feel 'lucky' that girls are all over them. Some people don't even consider it to be sexual assault when it comes to men. This also adds to the way society thinks of women as 'weak' and 'vulnerable' because men can take it and we can't, when neither is true. Nobody deserves to be a victim of this and even if he carries on preforming we really don't know how much this has affected him.

What are your thoughts?
