Don’t wait years before seeing a fertility specialist

Just sending a quick note to those who are ttc and holding off on seeing a specialist. Under 35, talk to your Gyn after 1 year of ttc and over 35, that conversation should happen at or before 6 months of trying.

After one year, my gyn happened to ask me if we were trying. When I told her it had been 13 months, she referred me to a fertility specialist. My husband and I had a number of tests done and the month of my hsg we got pregnant. Our DD is almost three now. We’re having trouble this time around and have already booked our first appointment with the specialist.

With all the stress and lack of support for women ttc, pregnant women, and moms, it’s no surprise that so many of us struggle. Know you’re not alone and don’t try to prove anything by struggling with ttc alone rather than talking to your doctor.
