When to start setting up crib?

I'm currently 31 weeks and 3 days and I was wondering when I should start setting up the babies crib. It's already in place but I mean like when should I set up the bedding (mattress and so on) I don't want to wait till last minute to do so either. Any advice?

Do it asap so it can air out. They have lots of chemical smells which is bad for baby.

my oldest son (13 yrs) helped put the crib together last night. (I saved my 3 yr olds crib) I'll be 35 weeks on tuesday.

We put it up after we got it. His nursery was all done when I was 34 weeks

The sooner the better. Wash all of your sheets first. I washed everything around 34 weeks and made the bed around 36 since baby can come at anytime. Also, one less thing to think about

I'm 29 weeks 2 days and have been nesting for about a week now. I'm cleaning everything, washing all baby's clothing and bedding. SO looks at me like I'm crazy while I hobble along, getting things ready. I haven't even bought the crib yet and it's driving me bonkers...I'm so ready to set it up, lol. I understand your fears of dust getting on the bedding, I have that fear too..( reason why I'm dusting and wiping line crazy 😕). I have a solution...get two sets, one for now to ease your mind of being ready and one for after baby's here, if you're not confident the other's clean enough. That way, you have it washed and ready to change up.

My mattress still has the plastic on it but it’s in the crib lol I guess I’ll take it off and wash everything around 36 weeks..I’m 32 weeks now.

I'm 37 weeks on Tuesday and I've still got to set up the crib...but I've been pretty late and laid back about getting everything ready. Everyone seems much more organised than me! 😂

I did mine right after I washed all the bedding. his nursery is almost ready and I'm 27 wks. lol.
