I like to buy my husband flower and write him a note telling him that I appreciate him :) he loves it. 
I'm usually too broke to do anything major so it's usually just little things. Sometimes I'll give him a full body massage with lotion/oil. Sometimes it's a nicely cooked dinner with candles. It just kind of depends on what you're going for.

Set up a movie night with popcorn, prepare a candle lit date at home, find a super cute/super sexy piece of lingerie, write him a love letter and leave it somewhere he will find it.... go local! Live like a tourist for a day, visit someplace new. Does he like beer? Wine? Find a distillery or winery.
