Can I request a membrane sweep at 37 weeks?

I've been having issues with prodromal labor for three weeks and am in so much pain at this point. My doctors appointment for a cervix check is tomorrow. Could I ask for a sweep or is that not allowed at 37 weeks?

mine would do it starting 38w. he said if the baby comes 37w then whatever, but he doesn't do a sweep because the baby isn't considered full term yet and he considers that preterm.

I wasn't allowed a sweep until 39wks but different hospitals have different rules so It wouldn't hurt to ask.

My midwife said as long as I test negative for strep b i can get one done tomorrow. (37w3d)

Maybe ask when is the earliest you can get a sweep is. Maybe they'll say they can do it now. I asked my dr when they would offer one and she said not until 39 weeks

I was positive for strep B and got mine at 38 🤷‍♀️
